Q: What is Neapolitan Pizza
Neapolitan pizza, or pizza Napoletana originated in Naples, Italy. This style of pizza is prepared with simple and fresh ingredients: a basic dough, fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
One of its defining characteristics is that there is often more sauce than cheese. This leaves the middle of the pie a bit wet and not conducive to being served by the slice. Because of this, Neapolitan pizzas are generally pretty small (about 10 to 12 inches), making them closer to the size of a personal pizza.
Neapolitan pizzas are also cooked at very high temperatures (800 F to 900 F) for no more than 90 seconds.
Q: I hear there are different ways to eat a Neapolitan pizza…
We recommend 3 different ways to eat a Neapolitan pizza:
- Cut into four slices, pick up with hands & eat away. Yummy.
- Fold slice in half and eat.
- Using a knife and fork, eat from the inside out.
Please let us know how YOU like to eat it… we’re all ears! firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: Are you a traditional sit-down restaurant with table service?
Not quite. We offer a unique, fast casual dining experience focusing on high food quality (priority #1) plus convenience, speed and accessibility.
So, when you arrive at Pomodori Pizzeria, the first thing you do is place your order and complete payment. We give you a number and you can choose your table.
While you wait, grab your utensils and water. Within minutes, your hot wood-fired pizza and salads are delivered to your table. And in Neapolitan style, we don’t cut your pizza for you – this style of pizza is best served uncut. We leave it up to you how you want to enjoy your pie! Then you can enjoy your meal, grab a gelato for dessert if you have time, linger or leave – you decide!
